Burning Satire #1

It’s amazing how much traffic I’ve been indirectly getting from one John Oxton post. I’m now getting like two people a day rather than one. Brilliant! Maybe, if I call John’s posts shit then people will come to my site…

Oi! John! Yeah. You’re shit. Yeah. Your posts are shit too. You talk wack. Ha! Nice flowers though. Now, please make a post about me.

There we go. I’ll just sit back and wait for the hits to roll in. Can’t beat calling a semi-famous blogger ‘shit’ to bring people to your site…

Update: Seems like John has read this post as he has seemed to replied to it. Can’t help feeling John’s being a bit sarcastic as I have re-read my post and I wouldn’t piss my pants at it. It’s not even mildly amusing. In fact, this and all my posts have the comic timing and wit of a Jim Davidson DVD. A Jim Davidson in Africa DVD. But that’s okay as only two people are reading this…

I had a similar altercation with the guy about a year ago and i think he imagines more people follow the links than really do. I get about a hit a month as regular as clockwork lol…

i actually came here via Technorati by the way so sorry. :)

o and never be afraid to kick a sacred cow on the way past lol, there’s no law saying anyone has to like the guy.

Nah, I like John actually, he seems like a honest, decent and funny guy. Never met him though, so he might be a twat in real life…

I’m not too bothered about “kicking sacred cows”, the big name bloggers are just the same as you and me. Except some know more about topics than everyone else and some are entertaining to read. That’s why they’re popular (and I’m not)!

The post was a (bad) satirical attempt at digs at John like in the link in his post.

Ha, cheers mate. I actually thought you were THAT guy when I posted lol… see not many people follow the links on those ones. Especially as I found you via Technorati after he wrote a 5 line post threating hits for shits on an unnamed source… ooo. So my interest was sparked directly since the ‘not naming the bigshot blogger’ article a few days ago.

Yes irreverance is what I’d call kicking a sacred cow, its much healthier than cowtowing as I see happening with the new Cathay Pacific redesign – done by Adaptive Path apparently so it must be awesome. Run it over the validator and count the stains and smelly socks. ha. This post being satire is kicking a sacred cow as well.

So you’re writing for .NET. Cool. I haven’t looked at Ruby as there hasn’t been a solid reason yet but its definately sparked my interest since way back when they first put up that ruby on rails video – can’t remember who.

Anyway work to do so must run. Cheers and hope the summer is being good to you. We’re in mid winter over here and have a mountain about a mile behind the house with snow on it. Not very warm lol.

I think its my blog design that keep speople away…so with that said, here is to me coming up with something flashy that people will want to look at. Oh, and congrats on the increased traffic :P

Elessar, I don’t think blogs need a good design to be successful. Take Joe Clark’s blog for instance – very plain design, but it’s his content that gets his visitors. I saw a very good post on Copyblogger yesterday that’s definitely worth reading.
