Life update #3: Another start

Some of you may not know that I finished my job last week, after only two months of being there. I don’t want to go too much into it really, as I don’t really like spreading shit around, especially as the London creative/web industry is so small. Yes, I know it will look bad on the CV, and yes, it does look like I can’t stick things out. What I will say though is that I didn’t feel very inspired being there, and didn’t feel like I was taken seriously. Like being in an indie band and then moving to a pop band.

So now I’m getting back into an indie band. After turning down a couple of offers, I accepted a job at Start – mainly because the people I will be working with seem nice and because I get to be more technically experimental.

The team at Start is small at the moment, but this is a good thing for me I feel. Closer work with other team members and more scope for working with new technologies and ideas. The office seems friendly enough too, people were actually smiling at me whilst walking around, although the office itself does look like something from Nathan Barley’s dreams. Hopefully I won’t be writing here in 3 months time moaning about how I didn’t enjoy working there…

Best of luck with the new job. I’ve been in the position of quiting after a short period of time (2 weeks in my case) for a number of reasons. It’s almost certianly the right thing to do – career-wise we have to look after number one after all.
