How exciting! My three page article in .net magazine, which I did ages ago, has been finally published. Fortunately, it’s in the redesigned .net so hopefully quite a few people will read it and hopefully find it interesting and/or helpful.
I must say how impressed I am with the new .net. The design of the magazine looks a lot more grown up and professional. I always felt the old design was a bit plasticky and futuristic-style-in-2001. It feels a lot closer to Creative Review and other design magazines, which obviously is a good thing for people like me – I don’t know if it’s old target market would be as impressed.
Not only is the design more ‘grown up’, the content is too. There’s a lot more features from well known industry figures, such as Jesse James Garrett, John Oxton and Jon Hicks, plus an interview with bumbling hacker Gary McKinnon which is very interesting. I feel the content is now more Digg than Practical Web User and it appeals more to professionals and bloggers.
I sound like a press release here, but really, I am very impressed. If I wasn’t, I’m sure you would know about it! So, congrats to the .net team! It’s a very impressive redesign!
Anyway! My article. Check it:
