Portfolio Update

Hello dear readers, I apologise for being lax with my blogging. I had promised in the past to do regular updates. I had initially planned to write here twice a week, but you know, best laid plans and all that bollocks…

There are two main reasons that I haven’t been writing as consistently as normal. First one is that my daytime work currently is made up of minor copy changes and general copy & pasting. Apparantely, work think I’ve turned into a very junior copywriter, or even worse, a project manager. Obviously, this RSI-inflicted monotony isn’t doing wonders for ol’ brain cells, so I haven’t managed to form a decent thought in… oooh… a week or so.

Second reason is I’ve been busy! Yeah! Stop hassling me, okay? Seriously though, I’ve been busy making… fanfare, please… riklomas.co.uk

Oh yes. It’s my very exciting portfolio. You can close the browser now if you think I’m being self-indulgent. Why do I have a different domain for my work? Good question. Well, my thinking was that my blog is not supposed to reflect the views of anyone else, especially the people who employ me to build websites. It would be strange for me to slagging off, say, Flash and then suddenly I have a Flash site on my portfolio on my blog. My blog is meant to be some sort of stream of consciousness… spurious bollocks, basically. Hence why I want to keep them separated. Just as with life, you keep your professional life and your non-professional life separated. Unless you go partying at work.

I would like your comments on the portfolio site, but personally I think I’ve done a good job on it considering I’m not a designer!
